My Creative Journey

Thanks for stopping by my website! I'm thrilled to celebrate nearly twelve years of running creative workshops in Queensland with some of Australia's most exceptional tutors.
I started this adventure in Mt Tamborine under the name Wisteria Cottage Fine Art Workshops, inspired by the beautiful English wisteria vine growing outside our studio. Plus, it was my ambition to learn from the best tutors available who had studied and practised their medium for many years.
So sadly, after fifteen years on the mountain and nearly two hundred workshops later, we decided to move closer to the sea for health reasons. So, nearly four years ago, our family took the huge leap and moved the studio and our home to the beautiful Moreton Bay Region of Qld.
As many of you know, we are a small boutique art facilitator, and our energies are focused on providing a personalised creative experience for all our students, whether it be a workshop or an art retreat.
Our website is updated regularly, so we look forward to seeing you soon.
My story:
I have been involved in the arts for over thirty years, and have held exhibitions of my art over the last fifteen. This all began with my love of creativity taking hold at an early age, as I studied commercial art at East Sydney Technical College in Sydney, which lit the flame. After a few years I redirected my creative urges toward photography. I explored the world through a lens for many years as a commercial photographer, driven by the need to support a young family. I also have a commercial background in finance, investment, logistics and stockbroking.
I returned to my first love and passion for creating around twenty years ago, and it is still an intense itch that has become my life. I love sharing my knowledge and struggles through teaching oils and acrylics to students, as well as mentoring those who attend our retreats.
Primarily, I am a landscape artist who loves seascapes, the outback, and nature. Please feel free to explore my work on my website Gallery, and if you have a commission that you would like painted, don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
I am also represented by the Seaview Artists Gallery at Moffat Beach - Sunshine Coast.
A complete Bio and artist's statement are available by request.
Happy painting!
Ron
